All homes at Marlands Park benefit from direct links to a network of footpaths and bridleways to the immediate and surrounding countryside.
The West Sussex Literary Trail
A five minute footpath from Marlands leads directly to The West Sussex Literary Trail, a 55 mile footpath and bridleway linking Horsham and Chichester. The Trail runs through some of the most beautiful countryside and villages in Sussex, finishing in Chichester.
The Downs Link
Located close to Marlands is a 37 mile shared route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The route links to the longer national recreational paths of The North and South Downs Way.
The West Sussex Literary Trail and Downs Link are directly accessible on footpaths and bridleways ways from Marlands as are a number of shorter circular routes.
The Literary Trail via Barns Green & Sumners Pond
Walk, Cycle or Ride – Take the footpath down the main drive to entrance and turn left, if on foot after a short distance take the footpath to the right and follow this to The Literary Trail. (if on horseback or bike, you can ride down to the village and adjoin the trail from the village). The trail leading into the village stops at the pub, shop and follows on to Summers Pond and the Lakeside Café. (60 mins including the return).
A quick circular walk around Marlands Park
Take the footpath across the top of Park Field and turn left on the bridleway, follow this to the road Plumbtree Cross Lane. Turn hard left taking the footpath down a private drive owned by Marlands Park and take the next foot path on the right following this back to Park Field. (25 mins)
The Downs Link & Barns Green
Walk, Cycle or Ride – Take the public footpath/ bike & horse track down through Park Field, pass under the bridge and turn left. Follow the
bridleway North to adjoin The Downs Link or after a short distance
carefully cross one of the railway crossings and return to Marlands Park (30/ 50 minutes depending on route back).
